Herrmann’s Fish Farm vs. Herman’s Fish Farm, what’s in a name?
Well quite a lot according to google.
Since spelling is critical to google’s search algorithm, they may see Herrmann (the correct spelling of Herrmann’s Fish Farm) different from Herman (a more common, albeit misspelled version). While this may not be critical at the current time, it could present a challenge in the future.
Currently a google search for Herman’s Fish Farm (the incorrect spelling) puts our domain up near the top but this is most likely due to lack of competition for this key phrase. This means that there currently is no business named Hermans Fish Farm. And since the term is so close to Herrmann’s Fish Farm (the correct spelling with two ‘R’s and two ‘N’s) our website ranks up near the top of the results.
It is well known that google can predict (many times quite accurately) what you are trying to spell when a term has been typed incorrectly. However this is based on the search volume of certain similar terms as well as the results available for both the correct and incorrect spelling.
This means that right now, there are not any relevant results for Herman’s Fish Farm, because it does not exists. While this could change in the future, hopefully it does not.
